The amount of money owed to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) by customers has grown again and now stands at £67 billion, according to research from the Asset Based Finance Association (ABFA). The figure represents an 8% increase since 2014 and a 36% since 2011.
Samantha White, CEO of My Credit Controllers said:
"These figures are incredible, and just go to show how much value businesses have locked up in unpaid invoices. Just think what you could do with the money if all your invoices were collected on time. Perhaps you could afford to hire extra people, invest in new equipment or repay an expensive overdraft?"
